Spiritual Awakening is a mega-transcendent moment resulting in an altered state of perception or a sudden expansion or shift in consciousness. So basically, you wind up "levelling-up" any knowledge you possess about your true "inner self" as well as all that exists external to yourself (i.e. "the secrets of the Universe").
With a true Spiritual Awakening, you may immediately understand all of these concepts OR find yourself on the pathway to unlocking doorways that lead to more knowledge.
Either way - when going through a Spiritual Awakening, you oftentimes arrive on the "other end" of that journey with a general sense of peace & well-being in knowing the depths of your own soul PLUS your place in this world.
However, there is one thing nobody tells you about the whole "Spiritual Awakening" thing - and that is....
Spiritual Awakening Can Cause & Up-Root Heaps of Trauma Before you Feel any Semblance of Peace
So really...
The journey to a Spiritual Awakening is not an easy one. Usually a true Awakening requires some form of catalyst.
And although there are some catalysts that are not-so-bad & even down-right uplifting (like falling in love or meeting a spiritual mentor that really stirs up some deeper contemplation); the most common catalysts / pre-requisites to a Spiritual Awakening include:
Do any of those sound fun to you?
That's right Babe... I think not.
And unfortunately, that's not nearly the end of the difficulties you may face throughout the course of a true Spiritual Awakening.
♥
Encountering a life-changing catalyst to Spiritual Awakening is just the beginning, Babe. It all kind of "goes down hill" from there.
Most people who have gone through their own Spiritual Awakening will be the first to tell you that it's almost as if your entire life, thought processes & behaviours are under a microscope. The level of introspection you experience is second to none. And it's only through holding on long enough to your own sense of self (and quite frankly, your own sanity) that you are able to stand up & proudly say "I'm Awake, Bitch".
Sounds kind of like you're playing a game of "Chicken" with the Universe, huh? Well that particular analogy is closer to the truth than a lot of us would like to freely admit.
In fact, you may end up dealing with some of these twists & turns before you even gain your stride & confidence within yourself to see what lies beyond our huge, expansive, existence / Universe:
There are of course some amazingly, positive, shining moments sprinkled throughout the process of "Awakening" spiritually (i.e. feeling a general sense of peace, heightened intuition, gratitude, a strong impulse to help others, etc.).
But as with all things that we face in humanity - we have a tendency to experience and feel the low's much more deeply than the high's.
♥
It's very normal for anyone having gone through one phase of Spiritual Awakening, to keep experiencing this entire cycle of growth / change over and over again.
Basically once you're "Awake" you're not done.
There are degrees of being "Awake" and maintaining this "Awakened" state is a struggle in and of itself.
♥
At least, that's my 2 cents as someone who has been a part of this rodeo since Day 1 of my spiritual gifts manifesting.
In the beginning of my own personal spiritual journey - I remember going through this journey of darkness & experiencing overwhelming self-doubt on a regular basis. I would even, at times, go through this whole process again and again from beginning to end at least once per month!
♥
Right now, yes absolutely I do think it was.
Whether you feel it's worth it is completely up to you. We're all on our own paths & experiencing our own solitary journeys.
I think it's most important to remember that you aren't alone. This process is the same for everyone. And despite feeling, in the moment, that the "rest of the world just doesn't get it", part of being an "Awakened Person" is knowing that we are all a lot more alike than we are different.
So you aren't alone in dealing with the high's & low's of this Spiritual Awakening process.
Try to remember that.
♥
As I just said - you may feel alone but it's important to at least remind yourself, that on some level, you aren't.
I know through personal experience that when suffering from anxiety and depression (some of the lowest points of a Spiritual Awakening) it can be very difficult to maintain this frame of mind. In fact, loneliness and isolation can be a very big part of anxiety and depression in and of itself.
However, experiencing a Spiritual Awakening does not mean that you need to only seek out or hold onto spiritual tools to maintain your sanity.
Don't forget to embrace tools found in our Human Experience as well!
Like counselling, therapy, the advice & guidance of medical professionals, etc.
Especially when unearthing or experiencing severe trauma that may have been the catalyst to your own Spiritual Awakening OR having to face old wounds / trauma while going through the deep levels of self-assessment that a Spiritual Awakening brings forward.

Check out one of my most recent Spirit Unplugged Podcast episodes below to hear more about this whole "Spiritual Awakening" thing, including what you can expect to experience during this process.
I've even included more examples of what I have gone through & faced in my own personal spiritual journey as well in the hopes that in this moment, you will not feel as alone as you think you are.
